When optical illusions were first created, nobody new how it worked, they didn't know if their eyes were playing tricks on them, their brain was playing tricks on them, or if it was some kind of dark magic. Epicharmus and Protagorus are the two people who created the first optical illusions, Epicharmus believed that our 5 senses were messing up, causing us to look differently at optical illusons. His exact words were "The mind see's and the mind hears, the rest is blind and deaf". Protagorus disagreed with Epicharmus and believed that it was actually our environment messing up. His words were "Man is nothing but a bindle of sensations. Other famous Optical Illusion researchers and creators include Plato, Escher and Aristotle.
